A 7,000sq ft gym and outdoor workout space will open in early February at K2, Hull city centre’s new multi-functional living and workspace complex. Rise will be located on the 4th floor of the Bond Street building, which is undergoing a £6m redevelopment.

The 3,000sq ft gym will be home to powerlifting and weightlifting areas, as well as cardio equipment and personal training spaces. There will also be a 4,000sq ft rooftop outdoor workout area, where Crossfit, strongman exercises and circuits will be held.

Rise is the first gym venture for fitness entrepreneurs Samantha Monins, Adam Stevens and Tom Findlay. They will be recruiting five personal trainers to work at Rise, which is set to open on Monday 12th February.

Samantha commented:

“The location at K2 is as good as it gets for a gym. The complex is a mixture of offices, working spaces and apartments, with a real community feel, so we’re sure we’ll attract lots of members. The idea of providing something for everyone is at the heart of what we do. It’s why we’ve created different workout spaces, both indoor and outdoor, so we can cater for all.”

Brian Freestone, Communities Director at Tradepark Ltd, comments:

“We’re delighted that Samantha and Adam chose K2 for their new gym venture. The space enables them to include a range of training areas to suit different people, and the outdoor rooftop adds another dimension to the classes they can offer. We hope that Rise will attract not only K2 tenants, but other city centre workers and residents with its fantastic, convenient location.”
