Hot yoga studio set for flagship Kingston House development

Hot yoga is coming to Hull – with the region’s first dedicated hot yoga studio set to open at Tradepark’s £6m K2 development at Kingston House.

Lion Heart Hot Yoga Hull has signed a 10-year lease on the eighth floor of the new multi-functional living and workspace complex, and has begun the construction of a world-class yoga facility, set to open in early 2018.

The 330m2 facility will include a dedicated hot yoga studio, capable of reaching 40°C with 40% relative humidity – the perfect environment for hot yoga practice. It will also include two treatment rooms, alongside on-site shower and changing facilities and a refreshment area offering a range of organic food and drink.

The studio is the first of its kind in East Yorkshire and one of only a handful in the North of England. It will offer a range of Bikram, Yin Yoga and Sports Yoga, as well as Hot Pilates, with classes running seven days a week.

Michelle Shenton, Bikram Yoga teacher and founder of Lion Heart, explains:

“There’s a thriving yoga community in Hull, but until now, hot yoga practitioners have had to travel to Leeds or Manchester to find a dedicated studio. With Lion Heart, we are creating one of the country’s finest destination hot yoga centres in Hull, and aim to attract yoga practitioners from across the country.

“It’s great to be part of K2 and we’re delighted that Tradepark shares our vision. The building is fantastic, offering stunning 360° views over the city, in a tranquil, welcoming space that’s perfect for yoga practice.”

The K2 development is already proving popular, with Beverley-based developers Tradepark Ltd signing up businesses from across the region and beyond to pre-let agreements. Prospective tenants include MLS, Target International, The Shaw Trust and Hull City Council.
